Natalie Cole is upset that new artist, Amy Winehouse, won 5 Grammy Awards Sunday night for her album "Back to Black".
One only has to give the troubled artist's album a listen and you'll know why she won-it's brilliant in it's simplicity and she sings with feeling that I haven't heard since Janis Joplin. I've become an instant fan.
As for whom Cole, whose new jazz CD will be out in August, would have lavished with Grammy gold, the singer replied, "Rihanna, even Beyonce."
Cole claims that Winehouse's drug addiction and subsequent rehab stay should bar her from winning the prestigious awards.

Now ain't this the pot calling the kettle black? I submit for your perusal:
In 2000, Cole released an autobiography, Angel on My Shoulder, which described her battle with drugs during much of her life.
In the book, Cole admitted to using LSD, heroin and crack cocaine.
Cole said she began recreational drug use while attending the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
She also disclosed that she was arrested in Toronto, Canada for possession of heroin in 1975.
Cole continued to spiral out of control - including one incident where she refused to evacuate a burning building, and another where her young son Robert nearly drowned in the family swimming pool while she and her first husband, the late Reverend Marvin Yancy, were on a drug binge.
She did eventually enter rehab in 1983. (Props to Wikipedia for the above info)
Back to reality...Hey Natalie...you'd be hard pressed to find a musician who hasn't partaken of a controlled substance...I'm sure you remember Johnny Cash and Aerosmith...Keith Richards-it's a wonder he's alive. But to deny any of them their props because of their substance abuse? That would be like telling me I can't be father of the year because I'm fat. The accomplishments are what are rewarded, not the behavior.
Maybe you shouldn't win, or better yet, give back your Grammys, 'cause you don't deserve them either, according to your "pretzel" logic.
Wait, I get it now...you have an album coming out and need the publicity.
Shut up and sing!
