Welcome to my blog.

I am new to this and will grow with the success of this forum, I'm sure. What you will get from this is my opinions, right or wrong. What I will get from you is your opinion, right or wrong.

er, this is for fun! Opinions are like arses...everyone's got one and most of them stink, now and then.

So, lets have a blast and keep it clean!

Bill & Fellow Bloggers,
Attached (below) is a letter I wrote to all the major presidential candidates regarding a simple idea to transform the financing of our strained healthcare system. In short, this idea EMPOWERS the individual to help themselves & their families to provide for their healthcare needs. Check it out and let me know your thoughts on this important topic.

Governor Mike Huckabee
P.O. Box 2008

December, 2007

Dear Governor Huckabee,
As you are aware, the Health Savings Account (HSA) is a relatively new idea (est. 2004) which currently is administered by employers who offer high deductible health insurance plans to their employees. Why have our federal representatives not made the HSA available to every American whether they are currently employed or not?
The idea of the individual HSA (IHSA) would allow every American the ability to contribute up to $7,500 per year* regardless of employment status, health care plan, income, age, etc. The IHSA would help pay for health insurance deductibles, co-payments, uncovered services, and even health insurance premiums. The idea places more control at the individual level, which is necessary to help better allocate our limited health care resources.
The individual HSA would provide a significant increase in American's health care security, spurring health care spending only when needed and directed by the individual and their provider. Ultimately it serves as a preventive measure helping those in need address health care issues before they become catastrophic. The IHSA would be portable and flexible and give patients the ability to seek health care services without having a concern with out-of-pocket costs.
If IHSA dollars are not completely utilized during an individual's life time, those dollars would remain under the IHSA umbrella and passed on tax-free to beneficiaries and/or willed to charities, health care providers, etc. further increasing the health care security of future generations.
Americans desperately need a change to their strained health care system. With out accessible-affordable health care, they really have nothing. The IHSA will become the ultimate savings vehicle to help Americans control their long term health care security.
Please do the morally correct thing and introduce this needed legislation to the American people and our federal representatives now. We are counting on your strong leadership and support to dramatically improve and enhance our healthcare system.

Sincerely,

NOTE: *$7,500 per year contribution may rise with health care inflation. Dollars in the IHSA would be tax-free at distribution – similar to a Roth IRA.
