King James III snarkily explains that driving a Ford Taurus (that his campaign pays for) is not an "enhanced lifestyle"...I don't want to be a "noodge", but if somebody else decided to pay my car payments, this would, in fact, enhance MY lifestyle. A great deal, mind you.

Make Sense to Me! LYC
When is the Inquirer going to report on what's going on with Jim Matthews? Kudos to the Times Herald for staying on top of this story, but the whole region needs to know about Matthews' hijinks.
They are not........ because there is NO STORY..... KMA
As the Rolling Stones once said, "Time is on our side (yes it is!).
Give it time, it'll be all over the papers!
That reminds me.. Speaking of Music...the next time you get a comp for an event... You may want to dress up a little instead of looking like you are on your way to a Greatful Dead Concert....
Nope Got nothing.... Again It was reported... black and white! No laws were broken and NO TAX DOLLARS were spent just contributions! this like all the other "stories" are from 7 - 10 hotheads. Not even that many.. KMA
Grateful Dead? I wouldn't be caught dead in tie dye...too freaky even for me.
7-10 hotheads? That's up a bit from just me last week, isn't it, Dee?
Of course no tax dollars were spent...the government doesn't contribute to county commissioner races. But, campaign contributions are to be used specifically to "influence the outcome of an election", according to PA campaign finance law.
Lattes with Barry, taking the Taurus down the shore, to and from Keegan Mortgage, and purchasing tickets to the occasional Broadway show with his wife are NOT campaign related expenses.

Why is this so hard for you, Dee? By giving out secret no bid contracts in violation of the state law and a county ordinance, Jimbo eliminated competition for the work. Thus the contractor had no incentitive to keep costs down resulting in higher prices for the taxpayer. The executives whose companies got the secret no bid contracts kicked back a portion of the money the taxpayers forked over because of Jimbos crimes to Solicitor/treasurer Barry Miller who handed out the contract in the first place. Miller then approves Jimbo’s personal expenses as campaign expenses and the head of county personnel, Jimbo’s former secretary, signs the checks to reimburse Jimbo. So you see, Dee, the taxpayer loses out because we all pay higher prices for the contract so that who ever gets it can pay for Jimbo’s car and high lifestyle. Now do you finally get it? So just look in the mirror and turn to stone, will ya?
