Support Rolling in For Matthews Censure

After posting my opinion yesterday, I went about the business of the day, paying little attention to what was going on.

Late in the afternoon, however, I got a comment form one of the contributors to the Lehigh Valley Poliblog, a conservative blog out of the Allentown area.

They reported on what happened Monday evening in Montco, citing my 'cooler post as well as my follow up opinion. They reported the following:

"Over the last couple of years I have become confused and dispirited and wonder why I have been working for candidates and elected officials who not only work AGAINST my beliefs and principles but almost seem to mock them.

This is an encouraging sign from Montgomery County."
This, coupled with some of the reader comments I have been seeing on the newspaper sites as well as on several other political blogs gives me hope...it really shows me and the people of Montgomery County that they are not alone in wanting to purge the party of RINO's who would rather make a deal than take a stand for good government.

Chinese philosopher Lao Tsu stated: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." The first step is often the hardest, and usually takes a brave man (or woman) to begin that journey. I admire Bob Kerns' leadership and will gladly walk alongside him in his journey to make our party the Grand Old Party it once was, and, with this brave, new leadership, the great party it is destined to be.

Hat tip to the author and the power of the pen. I’m sure that your constant and consistent reporting of Matthews’ misdeeds contributed to this first step.

The party needs rebuilding and it will surely start at the local and state levels. Here is our first opportunity. I agree with earlier comments that the censure, in and of itself, may seem a little desperate. It is time for MCRC to do a little housecleaning. Let’s start with by fielding a strong candidate to replace Matthews. BTW there are still local committee members who support King James. May be it is their time too.

Just curious why you, as Treasurer of the Whitemarsh GOP, allowed the party to be tainted with the receipt of a dirty campaign contribution from Jim the Turd on September 11, 2008?

I'd be glad to answer.

Because I, as Treasurer of WRC am not the Chairman of WRC and therefore, do not dictate whose money we accept or reject.

Unfortunate, but an unavoidable consequence of belonging to a committee who is still on the fence concerning Jim. My opinion of Jim the Turd is well known, and I have no problem admitting it. Others still do.

If I were chairman, he wouldn't have been allowed in the room.
